G.T.H.L. All Star Team of the Century ghtl logo

Renowned Canadian sports artist Rob Macdougall crafted a commemorative painting of the All Star Team of the Century which was sold in a live auction in September 2011 with all proceeds going toward the newly established GTHL Legacy Fund.

The Greater Toronto Hockey League celebrated it's 100th anniversary by selecting an All Century Team comprised of former players who later went on to hockey greatness.

The honoured players, selected in an Internet poll by position, were Ken Dryden, Brad Park, Paul Coffey, Brendan Shanahan, Mike Gartner and Eric Lindros.

When Rob MacDougall was commissioned to do the painting his goal was to convey a nostalgic feeling going right back to 1911. From his extensive research he was able to include little design elements that would have been common in the hockey world back then. The overall bronze feel is meant to emulate not only the Hockey Hall of Fame but the design work within their historic building.
